The 24.5" high back rest frame has a built-in lumbar curve which can be fine-tuned or enhanced using the height-adjustable, sliding lumbar support. Arm support is provided by highly-adjustable 4D T-armrests that can move in four separate directions: up and down, left and right, forward and backward and swivel (15° in or out). International office seating manufacturer Interstuhl has teamed up with GPS pioneer Garmin to take active sitting to the next level. Until now active sitting required a conscious decision to move throughout the day. Deploying seating options that naturally encourage individuals to move was done to encourage movement but still relied to a great extent on the user consciously making the effort.

Interstuhl and Garmin worked together to create the S4.0 Active Sitting Solution, a small high tech device that is attached to the underside of the seat from where it monitors and records chair movement throughout the day. The data continuously transmits either directly to a Smart watch or to a PC using the included USB antenna/receiver. The supporting app lets viewers physically see the timing, amount, degree, and direction of movements they are making throughout the day.
